Well, the season is getting ready to go full force, meaning less family time for us for awhile. My husband works for a company that does seasonal business. We are hoping for the best as we are quite aware of the updates needed and will continue to do what we can in the future.We found a great Groupon a couple months ago for an overnight at the Francis Scott Key Family Resort in Ocean City, MD. We had hope to schedule a renovation for our kitchen rooms but I am not sure if that will be scheduled or not for 2022, items such as furniture, appliances even sheets and towels are hard to come by due to staffing shortages and shut-downs with manufacturing plants. We hope next season we can get our staff earlier, as a lot came late June due to pandemic delays. I am not making excuses but we, as well as all of Ocean City properties have been in the same boat. The majority of our housekeeping staff is the same and speaks limited English. We have been training new employees since June, with a turnover. I am sorry about the lost and found issue and will admit we have had a communication issue between our front desk staff and housekeeping staff. I appreciate your honesty and if you choose to visit us in the future, hoepfully the cons list will be a bit smaller. Overall, it wasn't bad, but the lack of space, old everything and general messy and seemingly disorganized way of how the place is run are serious minuses. Don't think it's malice or anything, just disorganized operations. We left an item (about $50) in the room accidentally, called and wrote four times and they wouldn't even bother calling back, so we are not holding the breath about getting the item back. Not surprising given the location though. The pool bar can't make even basic drinks that aren't on the menu (Cosmopolitan), the menu is ok though - No COVID consideration anywhere. Have to watch for cars everywhere you go. parking lot around playgrounds, multiple exits to three surrounding streets, and so on. a parking lot on the side of the property. Did not honor the 'do not disturb' sign twice and came down to clean at 9 am the day of the checkout, even though the checkout time is 11 am - Cars everywhere it's like the pools are on the parking lot, vs. if your kids are asleep, but you want to hang out outside, you can only sit on the floor. Smelly carpets - Not much space in a non-kitchenette room if you have a choice, pay $20 extra for the bigger room - On the pricey side for the weekend nights - No place to sit! One armchair in the room, nothing outside. Housekeeping does do their job well and the pools are clean, too. Nothing is really dirty or anything, it's just old and where it can be smelly because of humidity, it is.

We renovated 92 rooms in 2020, redid landscaping around the property this year and upgraded our WIFI. I am sorry they feel the changes from the effects of Covid and bad clientele are due to new ownership. I am not quite sure why the indoor pool seemed different, all attractions remain the same and in operation, the only area that was closed was the concession stand due to a staffing shortage- all of America is experiencing this issue- not just our resort. We are extremely short staffed, which has been pulling managers off patrolling the grounds and placing them in more hands on positions. All of Ocean City is experiencing these issues not just our resort. In response to this poster, it is unfortunate the experience was not like past seasons, however I can assure you it has nothing to do with the new owner.
